This topic is to show you exactly how Manage It works.
MONEY
The first thing I'll talk about is money. Without money you can't pay your players or sign new talent, so of course this is the most important aspect of the game. Earning money is simple, you start with £1 million and earn £50,000 for every post you make, meaning paying your top stars their weekly wages shouldn't be too difficult if you post around the forum fairly often. Money can also be made by selling players of course, so if you're a little short on cash a quick sale will provide the boost you need. Winnings are also won by winning the Ultimate League (and finishing in a respectable position) or the various knockout competitions that will take place during each season. The money system has been designed to replicate real life costs, so you will have players demanding £120,000 weekly wages and players who cost £30,000,000 to sign.
As far as debt is concerned, you cannot offer what you don't have in either transfer or signing on fees. If you cannot afford your teams wages and go beyond £1 million in debt for longer than 24 hours your team will be declared bankrupt, and if you're in any sort of debt you'll have seven days to clear it. Finally, when offering transfer money or signing on fees you cannot go more than a million pounds over your limit, for example if you have £4 million you can only offer £5 million at the most. This will leave you with a debt of £1 million of course, and if you go beyond over that limit you will have 24 hours to rectify the situation rather than a week.
YOUR TEAM
Onto your team and it's players. Manage It is completely imaginary and so are all the players. You can use names like Manchester United or Juventus if you wish to, but all players are randomly generated. Once you've signed your contract to become the manager of your team you will be assigned 16 players - 11 who can play on the pitch and five substitutes, and they'll all start on a one month contract. From there you can check out the Free Transfer Database for any signings and maybe get a player or two if you think you can afford them. In the interest of fairness you can only make two free transfer signings per week, and players will be added to the database at random intervals so everyone has a chance to sign the next star player. If you have a player you simply want to release you can either wait for his contract to expire or release him early, which involves buying out his contract. Players you release will be added to the Free Transfer Database.
PLAYERS IN THE GAME WORLD
As mentioned players are randomly generated for each team, and so are their stats. Each player (depending on their position) has 10 statistics with a maximum rating of 10 for each skill, meaning a players overall skill is out of 100. Depending on several factors like age and injuries these stats will raise or lower as time goes on, so keep an eye on all your players in case you accidentally sell the next global superstar for peanuts.
ROLEPLAYING
In the Manager Interaction Board you can talk to your fellow managers about anything you like - play some mind games, boast about your unbeatable team or discuss transfers or loan signings. Roleplays will play a part in deciding match winners and losers but they aren't essential, just a bit of fun and something extra for you to do. Also in the Interviews and Press Conferences Board you can talk to the press or conduct an pre/post-match interview either as yourself or one of your players.
MATCH DAY
I won't go into too much detail on how matches are simulated (partly because I couldn't explain it if I tried), but it essentially boils down to team skill, individual skill and a little luck and roleplaying ability as mentioned above. Your tactics and team formation will also play a part in how the games are played out, so it's important you plan ahead for each game. Ultimate League games are played on Saturday evenings GMT, and friendly games and tournaments will take place before each season starts.
That's the basics covered, check out various boards, players and other teams if you want detailed examples and more information on what I've mentioned here. As always if you have an questions drop me a PM, or alternatively post here.
